A person is a reflection of their culture, of what they believe and how they live their lives. A bridge between the past and the future, between time and space and needs to try to keep them in harmony, less they become unbalanced. Not to be aware of the past and give it due consideration in the building of the future can distort the future. Neither is it wise to sacrifice your future because you choose to live in or as if you are in the past. One World One Human Race One Destiny (OWOHROD)

HAMAS' 'CONCESSION' TO THE STATE OF ISRAEL - A SMALL BUT BIG STEP FORWARD? PART 1.
Probably the biggest threat to any ruling political regime, which has become institutionalised, as are Hamas, the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, the Chavistas in Venezuela, ZANU-PF in Zimbabwe,South Africa's ANC, et al.
Is that of myopia and stagnation. The desire to 'stop the revolution', in order too control and manipulate it.'
So that it proceeds, if at all, at the pace and direction of, its by now ageing leaders, and serves mainly their interests.
Rather than those of the people, whose interests it was predicated upon, and who have given the revolution its legitimacy.
The rich, it seems, get their power through using their wealth to manipulate people and institutions.
Whereas the more politically inclined poorer aspiring elites, might resort to get and maintain their power, through the political manipulation of the disenfranchised masses.
And so it is with Hamas, the formerly Palestinian revolutionary movement, which has made the violent struggle against the more violent oppression and occupation by the State of Israel, its primary cause for being.
Placing the struggle above the lives and well-being of the Palestinians.
Hamas, like so many other formerly revolutionary movements before it, has failed to evolve and adopt new and more appropriate methods of pursuing its struggle for Palestinian nationhood.
For a viable, just and prosperous Palestinian state. Which is the only goal which would justify the heavy sacrifices which have already been make by generations of Palestinians.
Not only has Hamas' inflexible leaders failed to evolve and adopt their strategies and tactics. But they have also failed to modify their objectives to make them more realisable, even if no longer 'ideal' ones.
By it intransigence and its failure to evolve and take on board the fact that. 'A revolution' should use the most efficacious strategies and tactics of the changing conditions in which it is taking place, to to pursue its goal.
Hamas, by its implacability, has given the moral and psychological advantage to Israel.
It has enabled itself to be characterised as 'the extremist', 'the terrorist'. When Israel is a more potent extremist, 'terrorist.'
It has allowed itself and its methodology to remain in the past, in its own reality, choosing not to learn the lessons it needs to learn from the changing world around it.
To be continued.
