Oh, god, who some of us believe to be in a place called 'heaven.' Whose name the believers believe to be holy.
May your kingdom never come, as it will bring an end to humanity, as it is our destiny to return to the dust and gases from whence we evolve.
Your will, we cannot truly know, and it would not be prudent for us to comment on whether or not it should be done, on earth.
Neither do we know if it is being done in heaven, of which we know not.
Lord, we do not look to you to give us our daily bread, for heavens know we need more than that to attain a state of satisfaction.
Or do we look forward to you to forgive our debts, as we know that you have no power over our creditors.
Who demand that we do the responsible thing and pay our dues.
Neither, lord, can we afford to forgive our debtors, as we need them to meet their obligations to us So that we can meet ours to those who have helped us.
So that the world can traverse its rolling around the universe in symmetry.
And, lord, we ask not that you do not lead us into temptation. Because we know that temptation is all around us, and that it is our choice whether or not we succumb to it.
Neither do we ask that you deliver us from evil, because we are aware that evil is all around us.
And it is only by our vigilance and our own hands, as well as those of our fellow humans, that we are able to fend it off or lessen its impact upon our lives.
And, lord, we know that the power is not yours, as we are constantly reminded each day.
When we are confronted with the excesses of the powers of nature and of humans. In bringing terrible and constant violence and distress to the lives of us humans.
We know that you, like us, lord, share our state of powerlessness and impotence. In the face of the devastation of the natural forces of our environment, and of some of our fellow humans.
We, lord, know only too well, that the forces of evil, appears to have more sway in the world than all the good which we ascribe to you.
And so, it might appear, that our god, the god of those of us who believe, really did die on the Cross, but did not rise from the dead, as was told and foretold.
Thus when we speak of god, are we really alluding to the common thoughts of humans throughout the ages. Having embodied our thoughts into our god/s.
And then behaving as if they are sentient deities, with a life and power of their own, instead of only that with which we, the ventriloquists, have imbued them.
