MEXICAN GRAND PRIX/2017 FORMULA 1 DWC - VERSTAPPEN AND HAMILTON ON TOP ! PART 1.

A Massive Congratulation to Max Verstappen and Team Red Bull for having emphatically winning the Mexican Grand Prix.

And to Valtteri Botas and Team Mercedes, and Kimi Raikonnen and Team Ferrari, for placing themselves on P.3, as they greeted Checkered Flag at the end of the race. Great performance, guys!

And, not to be outdone, commiserations to Lewis Hamilton and Team Mercedes, and Sebastian Vettel and Team Ferrari.  For not having been able to come in above P.4 and P.9, in the race.

After having collided and damaging both their cars, and thereby opening the gate to victory to Max Verstappen.  Who then glided, unassailable, to his third Formula 1 race victory.

It would not be fair to not appropriately laud and relish Max Verstappen's brilliant performance in winning the Mexican Grand Prix.

And just move onto focusing on Lewis Hamilton's great achievement, in winning the 2017 Formula 1 Driver's World Championship.

So, having acknowledged Max's great drive to win the MGP, it is a fitting moment to say, Lewis, A Mega Congratulation to you, and, of course, Team Mercedes, for winning your 4th FODWC!

Yes, it is the case that you did not win it as spectacularly as you would have hoped to do, by placing your car, Car 44, on the Podium.

That you had to contend with nursing a damaged car and lagged behind Sainz's car for far more laps than you would have wanted, and had certainly had your patience tested sorely.

Or that you should have had to take the risk of having your car wiped out, as you alarmingly struggled to overtake your old team mate of several years hence, Fernando Olonso.

To place yourself, not at the front of the pack, but at P.9.

Causing your dear mother, and thousands of other watching, to put their hands to their faces, not wanting to look, as they/we all felt sure that these manoeuvres were doomed to end in tragedy.

But, fortunately, due to your and Alonso's skill, and/or the good fortunes of the gods, what seemed certain, was no more than that, it seemed, but it was not to materialise.

Yes, we watched, as doubtlessly did you, impatiently and with a great sense of perplexity, as you approached or raced after cars, lap after frustrating lap.
But without the velocity to be able to catch and overtake them, as you had done in other races. And prompted us to asked ourselves: what is happening?

Where is the pace, the speed, agility and power of the Silver Arrows?

To be continued.
