None of him protecting humans from the abundant wars, the killing, maiming, displacement and starvation of millions of humans, which is being and has been perpetrated by other humans.
The truth does not begins with the acceptance of God; the truth begins with the question of, form whence cometh humans, and then leads us on to ask other relevant questions.
The answers to which we, being intelligent humans, demand that they be based on proven hypothesis or observable experientation.
All of which should lead the more prescient and prudent among us to only one conclusion. That, based on our current level of scientific and philosophical advancement, there is no sentient God.
And that the truth is that, there is no preordained purpose for the fact that we are born, we live and acquire social purpose to our living, and we die, as is our nature.
That there is nothing divine or preordained about the lives or living of humans, anymore than there are about that of other primates.
It is only what we make, and/or coerced by society to make of it while we are living. With nothing but oblivion and re-integration with the cosmic world, after we die.
It is to the profound cost of humanity, that the religious myths of the past, predate the establishment and development of scientific enquiry and knowledge.
That the myths on which the presumed birth of Christ and Epiphany are based, came before humans developed the capability to travel into and explore outer space.
Which could now support the contention that, the mythical God, whom we have been told, had sent his Son to Earth, to live amongst us as a human.
Was just that, a myth, or, at best, the hoped for meeting between God and humans.
That it might have been a precursor to the reality of us humans having now been able to send our scientists into space, to look for this sentient God. But only to have so far failed to find any other gods, but ourselves.
None of the above need be seen as being against the life-enriching and enjoyable non-deceptive and harmless cultural aspects of religious rituals and ceremonies.
Just that they should stop knowingly lying to and deceiving the faithful.
Making promises which cannot be kept, because they are based on deception centuries old deception by the religious priests and clergies.
