JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE MORAL AND LEGAL DILEMMAS OF ATTACKING ANOTHER COUNTRY ON 'MORAL GROUNDS.' THE END..!

And what of the relatively unreported killings, mutilations and massive displacement of the citizens of countries like the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali and Nigeria?

Do these killings not meet Presidents Macron and Trump's and Prime Minister's May's definition of 'barbarity' and the need for 'humanitarian' intervention?

So, why is there no consultation and rallying of the 'West's Calvery' to intervene'?

Is it because the West, at present, does not have any imminent overriding interests in these countries and their people?

Is it that they do not yet figure highly in the West's current geopolitical plans and strategies for them?

As opposed to Syria and her people, which and whom the West has made into a causus belli?

Now, none of this is meant to be an excuse for the horrendous killing, destruction of lives and livelihoods and displacement of people which has, and is still taking place in Syria.

No. It is just an argument against the unfounded, illegal and, yes, immoral justification which the United States, Britain and France, and their supporters, have proffered for bombing Syria.

However, since we are dealing with matters of 'legality', 'humanitarianism', and 'morality.'

We should probably not allow ourselves to become too preoccupied with the 'tokenism' and the 'matter of national honour', which the attack on the Syrian government and people is meant to represent.

After all, the bombing and cruising of the government facilities in Syria, result in few, if any deaths and injuries.

Just as how the alleged use of weaponised chemicals have only resulted in a very small proportion of the Syrians who have been killed and maimed and displaced in the proxy war.

The greatest proportion of the damage being done to Syrians and Syria, is being caused by 'conventional' arms, bombs and missiles.

It is by these weapons which the West and its allies, and the Syrian government and its allies, and the Syrian rebels are destroying an unbearable amount of the Syrians and their country.

It is this which is the true tragedy of the Syrian people, and one which can only be brought to an end by ending this proxy war; by the end of 2018.

By the West, including the Three Musketeers and their coalition, ceasing their occupation of Syrian territory, and leaving. By them ending their support of the rebels.

And with Turkey also ceasing its occupation of Syrian territory, and maintaining it with rebel 'terrorists', while arguing that it is doing so in its fight against Kurdish 'terrorists.'
