Had he not been sinned against by the Christian God, he might have been put to death or banished.
Like so many others who wives or husbands, or betrothed happened to take the King's, Queen's, Prince's, Princess' or powerful 'lord's' fancy. In this case, that of Mary.
Yes, probably, on reflection, Joseph could consider himself to have been one of the lucky or fortunate one; having had his wife seduced by God.
And living to tell the tale and even to gain some fame from having been the man whose wife became know as 'the Mother of Christ, the Son of God.'
And living to tell the tale and even to gain some fame from having been the man whose wife became know as 'the Mother of Christ, the Son of God.'
And so might it be said that, the precedent for men in positions of power abusing women and other men, was established.
At least, in the case of Christianity. Since the so-called 'Pagan Gods', had long before been know to consort with humans and give birth to 'demi-gods.'
And then, their is the other matter of Christ, we are told, having allowed himself to put to death on a cross, apparently in order to show us, or humans in his time, how much he loves them.
That he is willing to die for their sins. The merits of which act is still rather weak, if not pointless, as it does not remove the necessity of all humans having to die.
So, no, there is little indisputable evidence that the 'relationship between the so-called living gods and us humans is anything but an abusive one.
And definitely not a protective one, since, equally, their is no evidence of God having intervened to protect any human.
Irrespective of what the Christian Bible, the Quran, the Torah, Jewish mythology, and/or any other stories about gods, might have contended.
