I am not sure that, on the whole, things are not getting worse. That the perception of them getting better is not only that; a perception not supported by reality.
Or that the evidence of things getting better, is not being overridden by what must therefore be the deliberate or erroneous perception of that not being the case.
Some people might be of the view that more of the world's population is 'freer' today, than they have been in the past. And to some extent, they might be right.
Some people might be of the view that a greater proportion of the world's population is being fed better, probably quantitatively and/or qualitatively, than they had been in the past.
And, again they might be right. And what of the 'struggle for 'freedom and democracy'?
Is there more 'freedom and democracy' in the world today? Are more people living under the tutelage of 'democracy and democratic governments' today?
Is the 'struggle for encouraging and forcing more countries to adopt 'democratic' forms of governments, proving cost effective, in terms of the methodology being used, and the unforeseen consequences?
I look at Egypt, I look at Libya, I look at Yemen, I look at Iraq, I look at Syria, I look at Mali, I look at Afghanistan, I look at South Sudan, I look at Somalia.
And I look at what the United States is plotting and implementing against Iran.
To be continued!
