'Like other forms of racism, antisemitism can be used as a malicious defensive and offensive political and state tool, with which to unjustifiably bully attack others.'
Recently members of the government of Israel, including its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, described the Polish people “suckle antisemitism with their mother’s milk.”'
In effect, the government was asserting that the Polish people have been reared from birth as 'Jew haters.'
There has also been previous occasions when Prime Minister Netanyahu have insinuated, if not actually accused European governments, including France and Germany, of being 'antisemitic', if not actually 'antisemites.'
Now, with antisemitism having been a common feature of European social, economic and political life for centuries, and with the Holocaust having occurred in the incubator of Europe.
It is probably not surprising that members of Israel's government should hold such strong views about European states.
Even if the use of such incendiary words are more likely to increase mutual resentments, than promote greater understanding and peace.
Of course, it could also be intended to increase 'European guilt-complex towards the state of Israel', and strengthen their default response towards Israel's perpetration of injustices against the Palestinians.
To be continued!
