JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE SHAMIMA BEGUM SYMBOLISM AND JESUS CHRIST. THE END.....

With the kind of brutality which they have sought to embrace, as the conduit through which they hoped to achieve 'paradise.'

Instead, let us welcome them back into the fold of ' our secular civilisation.'

Where the pursuit of happiness, the rights of the individual and cooperation between different peoples, in this life.

Are given priority over the religious aims of humans and their beliefs about the gods, they and us are socialised into believing exist.

A world where humanism, the doctrine of the primacy of humans and humanity, prevails over that of theism, or the belief in the power of the invisible gods.

A world, a hell, in which men continue to deny themselves and the realisation of their potential to be more compassionate, in preference to endeavouring to prove the 'greatness' of their clearly powerless and impotent gods.

And as for Shamima Begum and her baby; what does the British government and its Home Secretary think would be the 'Christian thing', the 'we are better than that thing' to do?

Turn them away from the refuge which Britain could provide for them.  Telling them to 'be on your way, wherever it takes you', and do not darken our borders, as you might bring trouble upon us as well?

Or take them back and work on successfully rehabilitating the young woman and others like her, and hope for a 'Damascusian-type conversation to living in a secular society?
